So, when you go on a mission you can only call your family twice a year...on Mother's Day and Christmas. We always look forward to those dates because it's just good to hear your missionaries voice. Last time Silvia called was on Father's Day (March 19th)...that's the Bolivian Father's Day. My dad was extremely excited to hear her voice and I know he can't wait till she comes home. I got to speak with her for a bit and she is doing great. I could tell that her English changed a bit...some words she couldn't remember...she could only think of them in French! I thought that was funny....because I had to get used to English all over again when I came home from Spain. I'm excited to have Silvia teach me French...I've always wanted to learn it! Funny to say, I took 5 years of French in H.S. and Silvia took Spanish. She'd always laugh and wonder why I was taking french and told me to take Spanish b/c it was an easy A. When I filled out my mission papers I remember being specific that I had taken 5 years of French, hoping that they would send me French speaking. Well...they didn't and I was sent to Spain. When Silvia's turn came to fill out her mission papers she told me that she was specific that she ONLY wanted to go Spanish speaking, that she wasn't interested in learning a different language. Well... as we already know she was sent to Switzerland, French speaking!!!
